The British Columbia Clinical Genomics Network (BCCGN) supports the advancement of scientific knowledge and its application to improved health outcomes in British Columbia through its network of clinical investigators and coordinated access to state-of-the-art genomic technologies, genetic research methodologies and support services.

Mission

BCCGN helps clinical investigators gain access to state-of-the-art genomic technologies, expertise and research, to contribute to patient health and improved understanding of disease. more

Team

The network is led by principal investigators, Jan Friedman MD PhD and David Huntsman MD PhD and is supported by experienced professionals who are available to assist researchers. more

Committees

BCCGN’s oversight committee approves strategic direction and guides the Network to achieve its objectives and ensure it operates with transparency, and fiscal and ethical accountability. The management committee supports BCCGN by providing guidance on strategic initiatives and important issues and opportunities that may affect the operations of the Network. more

Advisors

Our statistics advisors champion collaborations with independent investigators to address methodological and statistical questions that arise in the application of genomics technologies. Our technology advisors are experts and project managers who work with the advanced technology genomics platforms that exist within BC’s scientific research infrastructure. more

The role of the BC Clinical Genomics Network is to assist BC scientists and clinical investigators to identify and exploit genetic factors involved in the development of, protection against, and treatment of genetic diseases for the benefit of patients, their families, and the health care system. more
